Clinical Tools

Over the last decades improvement of clinical tools to be used when dealing with mental health issues has been wonderful, shedding light and bringing hope for all those affected by emotional or mental states and the compulsive behaviours they can lead to.

The tools used in my practice range from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family of Origin Therapy, 12 step therapy, mindfulness, co-dependence models and Yalom based group therapy.

However, over the last 10 years scientific research in neuroplasticity, quantum physics and epigenetics has become increasingly important in influencing my practice. This research shows that much more significant change is possible in the human mind than was previously thought. I apply modalities that enable the client to drop the dysfunctional coping mechanisms which are based on history and trauma, and replace them with a potential self, becoming defined by a vision of their future.

While it is extremely important that clients gain awareness of the reality of their condition, it is vital that they do not become defined by it. In therapy we need help to explore and establish our values and our visions. We are capable of so much more that the past has shown. We too can become heroes of our own lives and find great new happiness and freedom.
